TENSESSY™ Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is a high-performance additive specially designed to enhance the quality and versatility of drymix mortar systems. Produced by spray-drying a premium-grade polymer emulsion, it redistributes into an emulsion when mixed with water—restoring the original properties of the polymer. Once dried, it forms a flexible, durable film that provides excellent bonding, weather resistance, and long-lasting performance.
By incorporating TENSESSY™ RDP, manufacturers and contractors can achieve improved adhesion, strength, and workability across a wide range of cement-based products—such as tile adhesives, wall putty, grouts, self-leveling mortars, repair mortars, and waterproof coatings.
How Does Redispersible Polymer Powder Work in Drymix Mortar?
RDP works by redistributing into a polymer emulsion when mixed with water. During the hydration and drying process of the mortar, the polymer particles form a continuous, flexible film that binds cement and aggregates together.
This film enhances internal cohesion, increases adhesion to substrates, and provides flexibility to absorb stress and prevent cracking. The result is a smoother, more durable mortar with stronger bonding and improved resistance to impact, abrasion, and environmental conditions.
